Sapa

Mountains & rice terraces

Sapa

Cool mountain air, layered rice terraces, hill-tribe villages and Fansipan, the 'Roof of Indochina'.

Perched at around 1,500 m in the Hoang Lien Son range, Sapa is famous for sweeping terraced valleys and the villages of the H'mong and Dao communities. Trek from Y Linh Ho through Lao Chai to Ta Van, ride the cable car up Fansipan (3,143 m), or walk down to Cat Cat village. It is a refreshing change from Hanoi's heat and a favourite for families, couples and walkers alike.
